What Is Kava?

Kava (Piper methysticum) (Piper: Latin for 'pepper', methysticum:  Greek for 'intoxicating') is an ethnobotanical from the South Pacific. It is also known as ʻawa (Hawaiʻi), yaqona (Fiji),  and ava (Samoa).

The roots of the Kava plant are used to produce a drink with sedative and anaesthetic properties. In high doses it can be very relaxing and euphoric.

Kava has been used safely by the people of the south pacific for thousands of years.

Kava is currently experiencing a revival as a great way to relax and enjoy life that little bit more, as well as a safe and non-addictive alternative to alcohol and benzodiazepines.

Relax . . . its Kava time.
