Kava is a member of the pepper family (Piperaceae), and has been enjoyed by the people of the South Pacific, for more than 3000 years.

First brought to the West by Captain James Cook, it became known as the "intoxicating pepper".

Kava may induce sociability, feelings of peace and harmony, and in large doses can be very sedative and euphoric, which is why it has long been considered an aphrodisiac.

Usage: Kava is best consumed in the evening. For a basic brew, Kava can be placed into a strainer bag and mixed with cold water in a large bowl. Approx 3 liters water to 100gram Kava.

For a more potent brew, blend up 50 gram Kava, 1 cup milk, 2 cups water and 2 tablespoons Lecithin granules. Filter through muslin or cheese cloth. Add optional chocolate flavor to taste.
